Blogs, Wikis, Flickr & Protopage

Today we are at the Australian Technical College for another workshop! I have created, for the first time, my own wikispace, flickr account, del.icio.us and a protopage!!!!!!

Our workshop is being facilitated by Robyn Jay from TAFE NSW in Sydney.

We have discussed among ourselves how we could use some of these resources in our work at the Chamber. Our main idea was to create a common protopage for our current TAA students and this page could include:

+ A calendar with all important upcoming dates
+ Bokmarks for links to websites such as EdNA, NTIS and the Chamber NT website
+ A direct link to the current Chamber TAA timetable
+ Podcasts from a variety of workshops

Tomorrow morning we will be learning about podcasting - something that we've been waiting to learn since the beginning of our project.

protopages, wikispaces, flickr....... etc

Today we went to a workshop at the Technical College it was run by Robyn Jay, it was fabulous we had a lot of hands on activities, in the areas listed below:

- Wikispaces

- bloggers (in more detail)

- flicker

- protopage

Protopage has been my favourite so far, it has definite potential to be a learning tool for our TAA students. It has functions such as calendars, bookmarks, section to put podcasting and somewhere that we could post updates for events happening in the training sector. We would like to start trialling it with our current students. Below is the link to the practice page that we did in the workshop:

Tomorrow we will be exploring pod casting in detail, i can't wait!!!!

Designing e-learning Professional Development Workshop

On the 23rd and 24th July Danielle, Chelsea and I attended a workshop on e-learning at the Australian Technical College. The workshop was facilitated by Clint Smith from TAFE Victoria.

Our main points of focus for the two days were Digital Photo Stories, navigation of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework’s ‘Designing e-learning’ website and participation in an Elluminate ‘virtual classroom’ session.

We created our own photostory using images found on Google and our own voices recorded over the top. We used background music to enhance the vibe of the presentation.
